Kind Consultancy has been retained by the Loughborough Building Society to assist them in seeking a Risk Manager to join their head office in Loughborough. Founded in 1867, the Loughborough Building Society has built its reputation on putting their customers first and providing outstanding, personal service. The Risk Manager will report to the Head of Risk and Compliance and will focus on the continued development and embedding of the Society's Risk Management framework, with key responsibilities including: Participating in the creation and delivery of the Annual Risk Work Plan, including planning and performing reviews, collating and documenting results and preparing reports. The plan will include core oversight, monitoring activities, specific thematic reviews, ad-hoc project work and the provision of effective independent oversight and challenge of new business initiatives Maintaining Risk Management related databases including tracking and monitoring resolution of risk issues Collating, overseeing and monitoring risk related Management Information for reporting to the Board and senior management Attending and presenting at Board Risk Committee meetings Pro-actively contributing to the continuing development and embedding of the Society's Risk Management framework, including providing guidance and support to Risk Owners and the wider business, and delivering education and training to the business to build risk awareness and promote a positive risk culture Developing and maintaining regulatory knowledge relevant to areas of responsibility and applying this knowledge to ensure regulatory compliance Our ideal candidate for the Risk Manager opportunity: Has substantial Retail Financial Services experience, preferably in Risk, Finance or Audit roles Has very strong analytical skills and report writing experience Has experience of performing Risk and Control based reviews Has very well developed communication skills in both writing and speech, able to translate complex information for a variety of audiences Is highly proficient in Excel Having Prudential or Treasury experience and holding a professional Risk or Treasury qualification would be desirable Is motivated and accurate with strong task-management skills, effectively prioritising multiple simultaneous priorities and working well under pressure If you're interested in the Risk Manager opportunity with The Loughborough Society and you have relevant skills, experience and knowledge, please apply with an up to date CV today.
