Reports to: Finance Director

Contract: Full Time                      

Purpose of role: To oversee the finance function

Role activities / responsibilities

The role is to oversee the day to day activities of a small finance team, to ensure the integrity of the accounts; enhance the internal control controls over the business.

The key responsibility is to provide timely and accurate management information to the Board and senior Managers in order to inform commercial and strategic decision making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of monthly Management Accounts for WBB group and individual profit centres
  • Ownership of the annual budgeting process and implementation of rolling monthly forecasts
  • Monthly Cashflow forecasts
  • Cost and Sales Variance Analysis
  • Overseeing Payable and Receivable ledgers
  • Ownership of the Annual Audit Process
  • Ownership of Tax, VAT and Beer Duty submissions to HMRC
  • Company Secretarial tasks
  • Implementation and oversight over key business controls

 

You will be:

  • A Qualified Accountant (CIMA or ACCA qualified preferred as the role is seen management accounts focused);
  • Experienced in manufacturing/FMCG;
  • Skilled in finance systems, SAP ideal;
  • Extremely competent with management accounts, comfortable with the likes of cost of sales, variance (both reporting and interpreting);
  • Ambitious to progress your career – the role may evolve into a Finance Director position in the future.
  • An excellent people manager with great inter-personal skills;
  • Energetic and focussed;
  • Highly intelligent and analytical, but with good ‘soft’ skills;
  • Driven and results orientated with a desire to achieve;
  • A problem solver with great attention to detail;
  • Good communication skills with the ability to speak to others in the business at all levels and deal with queries from external parties e.g. suppliers;
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, in particular with Excel;
  • Willing to throw yourself into a varied and busy role;
  • Flexible in your approach to managing your workload around busy periods and key deadlines.
