Badenoch Clark are working with an excellent organisation who are looking to appoint a Director - Financial Control to their growing team. This is a new role and aims to build an effective, collaborative and strategic partnership with their industry leading global finance and operational teams. Based in the Cambridge office you will be responsible for not only performing a Controllership type function; but also, be a business partner to members of the operational teams; alongside usual line management responsibilities. Key areas of responsibility will include: Review and approval of critical and material entries related to both Revenue and the Balance Sheet. Day to Day management of the team / direct reports; with the possibility that members of your wider team are in different offices around the world. Provide a critical review of the systems and processes that they currently follow and suggest areas of improvement / efficiency Advise business leadership on talent acquisition, development and retention with particular focus on leadership development and succession Strong business acumen with ability to understand complex organisational structures and environments Successfully influence at senior levels to gain buy-in and alignment around finance priorities. Expert knowledge of relevant financial regulations and standards. Qualifications: Education and Experience: A qualified accountant with previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform a senior, technically focussed role Strong leadership skills Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to train, coach and manage staff Strong business acumen with ability to understand complex organisational structures and environments Expert knowledge of accounting/financial principles and best practices Excellent analytical and quantitative skills Advanced level of skill in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation of data Ability to work with ambiguity and complexity Demonstrated executive presence and strong presentation skills Ability to influence at all levels of the organisation Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Excellent interpersonal skills You will be a qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience in a technically focussed senior finance role from within a large, fast paced organisation.
