AJ Chambers are currently working on an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious Semi Senior Accountant to join an award-winning firm of accountants. Our client is seeking an individual who is technically sound and keen to acquire broader technical knowledge through more diverse and challenging assignments. The Role: Prepare small company accounts, corporation tax returns and assist in the preparation of other returns to HMRC as required To undertake a range of book-keeping tasks and assignments Demonstrates a reliably high level of competence in finalising all moderate to larger assignments direct to supervisor or team leader Clearing basic queries directly with client and suggests sensible conclusions Demonstrates good standard of general tax knowledge to complete the accompanying tax computation accurately Demonstrates a clear understanding of assignment plan, instructions and time budgets before assignment begins and briefs team member accordingly Co-ordinates workload with senior, supervisor or team leader, giving regular updates as to assignment progression Demonstrates on-going technical and job knowledge development by discussing the application of new knowledge to client situations with team leader/partner Makes suggestions to supervisor/team leader for improvements to clients' systems and procedures The Ideal Candidate: AAT qualified/ACA or ACCA part qualified Up to date working knowledge of VAT Experience of using Sage, Xero and QuickBooks Online would be preferable Confident, articulate and an effective communicator at all levels Well-presented and professional If you feel you are suitable, please apply direct or contact Jess Dodman at AJ Chambers.
