I am currently working with a large practice in the Surrey area who are a top 10 firm and are looking to recruit for an Audit Team Leader / Audit Senior. Please see below some details in regards to the job. The Department The Corporate Services Department of the UK firm provides a comprehensive range of audit, accounting and transaction support services to clients. These services include management, financial and statutory reporting, extending to full outsourcing of the finance function for a number of clients. The client base is extensive, ranging from the business affairs of high net worth individuals to multi-national groups. We are involved in the full spectrum of business, from start-up and entrepreneurial companies to mature groups, across a wide variety of commercial, generally high margin, sectors (eg motor sport, high end retail brand, property development, technology, financial services) and the 'not for profit' sector. The diverse, unusual and demanding client base makes working with my client rewarding and challenging. The total staff of the department is approximately 60. The Position The Assurance Services Group (ASG) of the Corporate Services Department is looking to recruit an Assurance Team Leader who can work within the department, running audits for a range of clients from SME's to medium-sized complex groups. Key features of the role include:
• Liaising closely with managers to undertake audit risk assessments and audit planning
• Supporting the managers to deliver cost effective audits
• Site visits to assess the progress of audits and provide guidance and support to on-site staff
• Extensive liaising with clients throughout the audit processes of planning, fieldwork and completion
• Completion of audit file reviews and supporting junior staff to clear review points
• Involvement in ACA students' training and development and staff review process In addition, ASG supports the Transactions Support Group of the Corporate Services Department. The successful candidate has the opportunity to get involved with one off special projects including:
• Preparation of statutory financial statements for big 4 firm's audit clients
• Valuates Work
• Acquisition and disposal due diligence exercises
• Review and documentation of internal control procedures and systems The Candidate The main criteria for candidates applying for this position are a combination of strong technical and analytical skills combined with first rate client handling skills. The ability to work flexibly, and on one's own initiative, in the application of technical knowledge to deliver timely, quality outputs is essential. The candidate should ideally be able to demonstrate:
• Recently qualified or experienced ACAs or ACCAs
• Excellent technical skills
• Varied statutory audit and accounts preparation experience
• A strong and up-to-date knowledge of FRS 102 & IFRS and ISAs
• Good communication and inter-personal skills
• A team approach to working and a 'can do' attitude
• Ability to delegate to and supervise junior staff
• Ability to work under pressure to a high standard
• Good IT skills and receptive to technology changes Compensation The Firm aims to reward staff with attractive renumeration and benefits packages in the top quartile of the accountancy sector. The role will command an attractive compensation package comparable with Central London and Big Four firm packages.
