SF Recruitment are currently looking to recruit a Group Financial Controller for an exciting and fast growth Private Equity service business in Nottingham. This is an exciting time to join the business as they go through a further investment and growth phase. As Group Financial Controller you will report directly to the Group CFO and be given opportunities to develop your career as you play a fundamental role in building and shaping a strong finance function across the global business. You'll lead all elements of day-to-day financial control and operations; monthly and annual reporting and budgeting; compliance and statutory requirements. You will also be responsible for leading and mentoring the finance operations team and managing their training and development needs. Working closely with the CFO and FP&A Manager you will be a strong business partner to key stakeholders including the senior leadership team, external professional advisors, the Board and Private Equity investors. You will have the ability to make a real difference by influencing change and developing new ways of thinking. Key responsibilities - Ensure the timely and accurate production and consolidation of the Group's monthly management accounts - Maintain firm control of cash and working capital by creating, maintaining and developing robust and flexible forecasting tools and techniques - Maintain and develop the finance system and data flows to/from the CRM system - Create, maintain and develop robust balance sheet reconciliation processes supported by appropriate accounting policies - Develop, implement and ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and procedures. - Implement a continuous improvement approach to all financial and management accounting processes and controls to optimise efficiency and effectiveness - Oversee the financial operations team (looking after receivables; payables; banking and treasury), coaching and mentoring them to achieve and maintain high performance levels - Ensure all relevant group, national and local compliance matters (e.g. sales reporting and sales taxes; employment reporting and tax; corporate reporting and other taxes) are up to date - Produce annual statutory accounts for all local and group entities, manage the year-end audit and working papers. - Manage relationships with PE investors, banks, auditors, HMRC and other external professional services advisors You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA qualified) ideally with previous experience within a Private Equity environment. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment, with a hands-on approach with an interest in the detail. You will have gravitas and impactful, comfortable challenging others and being challenged back. You will have proven business partnering and financial analysis skills, as well as excellent communication skills. You will be a strong leader and a good team player, with a strategic mindset.
