Assistant Manager, Finance Business Services, 12 Month Contract, Full-time, £35,000-£39,000, Bristol.

Your new company

An established Financial Services organisation is seeking a full-time Assistant Manager in Accounting Operations, within Finance Business Services, to join their Bristol team.

Your new role

As the successful candidate, you will be working within the Accounting Operations team who make payments for the Group, run the general ledger systems and support the business departments through month end close processes. The team manages the company's foreign currency month end processes, operates its statutory reporting system, as well as runs its platform for interfacing the core system into the general ledger.

Your responsibilities will include the processing of the team's international currency interface, as well as month end work, to interface the organisation's foreign trades through the general ledger, through journals and source systems. You will also be involved in a range of projects, which directly affect the team's systems. New systems as well as new processes are also being developed, so you will be tasked with supporting in the testing of these systems, as well as in the creation of a standardised process. You will support these processes and ensure that they are followed correctly. You will be involved in the operation of daily tasks for the organisation's platform, as well as the monthly operation of the platform. This will include various reconciliations, submission for posting journals into SAP, support in month end work and reporting within timelines, and the operation of table change controls. You will also support another team with monthly inter-company matching processes, which will include communicating with internal customers. You will work closely with other teams to integrate the new system, as well as liaising with stakeholders and investigating their queries.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be part qualified or degree qualified with some finance experience. You will also be proficient in excel, including Pivot tables, Vlookups and Macros. Strong judgement skills are required, as well as great communication skills to liaise with stakeholders, and great attention to detail in the handling of complex data. You will have excellent prioritisation of tasks, the ability to use your initiative in a fast-paced environment, as well as the desire to get involved. You will contribute to the team's success, through the improvement and simplification of processes.
