Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a growing construction SME based on the outskirts of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire to recruit for an experienced Finance Manager. A newly created position, reporting into the Directors and Senior Management Team, this is a varied and hands-on role where you will be responsible for all accounting duties overseeing and supporting a small team, along with assisting in reporting to help the business grow further.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve management account production and liaising with the external practise for year-end and audit preparation. You will be hands-on with all transactional duties including purchase ledger, sales ledger, VAT returns, CIS returns and financial reporting/analysis. Posting prepayments, accruals and journals, maintenance of fixed asset ledger, balance sheet reconciliations along with bank reconciliations, payments processing, cash flow forecasts and budget preparation. You will support junior team members within the team and be involved in ad-hoc reporting and analysis for the Directors.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this hands-on and varied Finance Manager role you will need to have experience within a similar position, it is essential you have worked within the construction sector previously. You will be CIMA/ACCA/ACA part-qualified/qualified or qualified by experience and have worked within SME's. You will need strong communication skills to build relationships internally and externally along with be able to manage your own work-loads and work towards time-constraint deadlines. You will be trained in a range of finance systems with key MS Excel along with key process improvement skills.
