Job description: As Financial Controller you will report to the Plant General Manager and take important part in the Site Leadership Team of our manufacturing Unit. In this position it will be vital for you to control all aspects of financial reporting and analysis for our site as well as participate fully in the management to ensure that the business achieves its business objectives. This involves full understanding of all aspects of the business and the issues affecting it. Full reporting and analysis must be undertaken for local and group management as well as providing suggestions on potential improvements. Your stakeholders will be both internal and external, including Auditors. Your key responsibilities would be following: Ensure that the monthly accounting transactions are timely and accurately recorded to report to local and divisional management both standard and supplementary reports and any other information required to allow management to understand the business. Provide necessary support and analysis for investment cases (CAPEX) and post implementation follow up Provide the necessary additional reporting to satisfy year end / statutory reporting requirements. Ensure that adequate controls exist in the business to ensure that the assets are safeguarded and the business does not incur liabilities without proper approval. Liaise closely with the shared service department to ensure that the ledgers maintained for the Plant accurately reflect the transactions entered into. Audit monthly payroll and ensure that adequate controls are exercised in this area. Organize and run the site Estimating Committee, which is responsible for setting manufacturing cost recovery parameters. Ensure that stocks are safely stored and accurately valued and controlled, including regular physical verification. Ensure that all site and company EMEA Finance policies are complied with. Act as liaison with the IT Department ensuring that requests for the Plant development work are properly prepared and appropriately made. Co-ordinate the production of short and medium term plans for the site (including annual budget and shareholder value analysis). This includes involvement of and communication to local management. Provide whatever ad hoc reports that may be requested by local or divisional management in order to assist in understanding business issues. Participate fully in the successful management of the site as a member of the Senior Management Team. Requirements of Financial Controller: Professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA). Proven track record of a similar function in a manufacturing site Demonstrable business acumen in addition to traditional finance skills. Experience in people management Considerable exposure to working in a computerized environment. A good working knowledge of spreadsheet packages is essential. Business Intelligence and the ability to analyze and explain issues. Good communication skills (written and oral). Good people skills (motivation, development). Flexibility and ability to approach problems from wider stance A robust and committed team player. Desirable: Experience of working in an SAP environment. Exposure to modern manufacturing management techniques (e.g. Lean Thinking)
