Accounts Assistant | Lincoln Start date: August 2019
Salary:
dependant on experience Our client is looking to recruit a accounts assistant / assistant accountant to join their team on a 12 month temporary contract basis. This position will report to the finance manager and requires some current accounts experience, along with good systems skills including excel. This position requires the tenacity and desire to pick things up quickly and wants to learn. Duties and responsibilities will include: Supporting the reconciliation of bank accounts, balances, income and cash takings Ensuring outstanding transactions from the bank reconciliation are monitored, investigated and actioned accordingly Working to strict deadlines Posting invoices to the correct cost centres Processing journal entries Assisting in the checking of bank details on the weekly payment run Ensuring classification of cost and income and VAT treatment is correct Allocating and reconciling payments/receipts to HMRC as required Supporting annual fixed asset reviews Supporting, obtaining and preparing the year-end stock takes Preparation of a monthly list of inventory items purchased Liaising with Accounts payable, receivable & finance partners to seek out information pertaining to possible prepayments or accruals on a monthly basis Assisting in the completion of month end reconciliations within the set deadline Assisting in the completion of the year-end accounts and working papers as required Assisting with maintaining the accounting ledgers monthly to ensure up to date and accurate data This position will suit someone who is ideally AAT studier / or has AAT Qualifications, good working knowledge of all-round accounts and excel. This position requires a short notice period or immediate availability.
