Reed Accountancy are working with a large logistics business in Sheffield, who are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant initially on a 6 month contract which could go permanent. Salary - Up to £30,000 DOE The Role: Reporting to the Finance Manager, your duties will include, but not be limited to:
• Preparation of weekly and periodic financial and statistical reports.
• Undertake nominal ledger tasks including processing journals, nominal ledger cross charges and period end reconciliations.
• Business partnering the Operation during weekly finance reviews to help enhance understanding of key cost drivers.
• Producing robust Budgets & Forecasts.
• Costing Gainshare projects & tracking actuals.
• Involvement in Finance driven projects to improve controls and reporting.
• Carrying out complex payroll reconciliations.
• Balance sheet preparation including informative commentary and robust supporting reconciliations. The Person:
• Self-motivated with a "get stuck in" attitude.
• Willingness to learn new skills at a fast pace.
• Ability to prioritise workload and delegate where necessary.
• Able to work in a team environment as well as on own initiative.
• Numerate and methodical with good problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail.
• Able to seek, evaluate and organise information in a pressure environment. Meeting tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
• Intermediate / Advanced Excel skills.
