Assistant Accountant - Canterbury Natural Progression to Dealership Accountant Up to £35k Basic Company Car Our client is a large car dealership group with fantastic modern dealerships across the UK. They are looking to welcome an experienced Assistant Accountant to their stable team based in the Canterbury / East Kent area. We are looking for a candidate who is ready to take the step up to be a Dealership Account / Branch Financial Controller. You must have good experience in the motor trade and is looking to progress their career to the next stage and beyond. You will be a motivated hard worker with a can-do attitude and an ability to work to tight deadlines. The position forms part of a strong relationship between the accounts department and the management team, they see the accountant as a key commercial partner within the business. The Role To accurately maintain all information relating to the financial transactions of the dealership, either via the computer or manually in accordance with the Company timetable and policy. To assist the Dealership Accountant to facilitate the smooth operation of the Companies accounts functions up to Management Accounts. Predominantly the role will cover the sales accounting functions. To work closely with the Dealership Accountant to assist in reconciling vehicle schedules and stocks. To hold vehicle deal profit reviews monthly with sales managers to ensure that everything is posted within the correct month and that profits, losses and units agree and advise on any discrepancies with the General Manager. To assist in producing monthly expense analysis reports. To assist in the monthly tracker submissions. To provide support and guidance to the accounts and sales admin department where necessary to ensure that everyone can complete their tasks satisfactorily. To ensure that the tidiness and security of the accounts department are maintained, and all quality records are maintained securely. To ensure that all guidelines and regulations on health and safety are followed. Candidate Requirements Car dealership / Motor Trade experience is essential Hardworking with a can-do attitude Kerridge or Pinnacle experience is preferred but not essential Happy to consider qualified, part-qualified or QBE.
