My client is one of the fastest growing accountancy practices in the UK with over 2700 staff in over 90 office locations. Part of a major group which has 4700 people operating from 150 offices in 7 countries, they work with all types of businesses from sole traders to large national corporations and everything in between. The Group has grown significantly both organically and by acquisition, by using a consultative approach they offer a wide range of Business solutions, across Accounting, Audit, Tax, Payroll, Corporate Finance and Restructuring & Insolvency. They are seeking to recruit 3 ambitious, high calibre accounts and audit staff to join my client based in Wynyard near Stockton. Successful candidates will be part qualified Accountants working towards a professional qualification and will have a minimum of 2 years recent experience of working within practice. Individuals will be joining a busy, growing team providing clients with excellent specialist knowledge and service delivery. Responsibilities include; Processing transactions using cloud-based accounting software, including maintaining the sales and purchase ledgers, nominal ledgers and processing all bank transactions. To include reconciling all balance sheet accounts; Preparation of accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships; Maintaining client books and records on a regular basis, including preparation of VAT returns; Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients; Report directly to a Manager / Senior Manager; Working and liaising with other members in the Business Services team and colleagues in other departments as necessary to provide high quality client service; Ability to multi-task and complete assignments within time constraints and set deadlines; Able to organise staff subcontracted to or working for them and the ability to appropriately train more junior members of staff; Regular travel and time working at client's premises; a willingness to travel and access to a car is essential; Knowledgeable of firm's services and able to cross sell those services into the client base; Carrying out audit work at a variety of clients in the commercial and not-for-profit sector;s Other ad hoc duties. The prospective candidate will: be AAT qualified and/or ideally studying towards further professional accounting qualifications (ACCA/ACA); Have proven experience of working in a practice environment; Have a proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong client relationships; Have a proactive approach to problem solving and delivering client solutions; Be a motivated individual and able to work alone or as part of a team. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate: The ability to take responsibility and use own initiative to resolve problems and issues; Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and clients at all levels; Strong organisation and planning skills and attention to detail; The ability to positively embrace changes and new challenges; Technical capability of producing accounts to a high standard and knowledge of current accounting standards (FRS 105 and FRS102); Experience of using cloud-based accounting software packages, such as Sage, Xero, Receipt Bank, Auto Entry essential; Experience of CCH products desirable but not essential; Experience of Microsoft Excel and Word skills; Experience in audit and assurance work (desirable but not essential); Hold a full and clean driving licence.
