My client is one of Nottingham's most recognised employers is looking to strengthen the commercial finance team with the appointment of a commercial accountant. The role will be broad-based, supporting fellow finance professionals but also involving extensive liaison with non-financial staff. You will have broad financial skills, ideally including an element of finance business partnering, combined with the credibility and confidence to persuade and influence at all levels. Specific areas of responsibility will include: key support to the finance business partners. To assist with month-end processes and production of standard monthly/quarterly reporting packs to the business and boards. To assist with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting.
• To assist with the month-end process including the production of standard reports, and the production of the management information pack within the required timescales. provide a variance analysis against budget/forecast and highlight and investigate any discrepancies. Job Description
• To assist with the annual budget and quarterly forecasting process as directed. To ensure the existing templates are populated with accurate information and variances investigated and explained.
• To provide financial support to Managers To prepare the monthly journal accurately recharging costs to the relevant departments. To lead on any queries ensuring they are addressed promptly and refer any issues to the relevant business partner.
• To build professional and effective relationships across the business. To work closely within the team and provide support when required during busy periods. Technical skills
• Must be IT literate with advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience of manipulating large volumes of data. Sound working knowledge of other Windows-based software packages and powerpoint.
• Good presentation skills when producing financial information in a variety of forms choosing the most effective and impactful as a means of communication.
• Part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA). Person specification You would be expected to have the following skills and experience:
• At least 2 years experience of working in a fast-paced finance environment.
• Proven track record of building relationships outside the finance function with well-developed communication, negotiating, influencing and listening skills.
• Multi-tasking - need to be organised, efficient with the ability to push multiple projects forward at the same time.
• The ability to work accurately and adhere to critical deadlines.
