CPJ Field & Co Ltd is one of the UK's leading independent funeral directors based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. Owned and managed by the Field Family, the company has offices across Sussex and the South East of England employing approximately 155 colleagues at all levels. We requires a part-time Purchase Ledger Assistant working a minimum of 15 hours each week to provide support and assistance at its Burgess Hill Office. Day to day, the successful applicant's responsibilities may include: Provide assistance to the purchase ledger function in support of 40 funeral homes the hubs and Rampion House. To accurately process and invoices received from suppliers into the PO system in a timely fashion and reconcile supplier statements of account to enable the efficient operation of the business and the timely production of management accounts. The post holder will be required to work flexibly, in a tight knit office environment. It may be necessary to assist, or cover for, other accounting staff from time to time. Primary responsibility High Volume entry and checking of invoices into the companies software system Also assist in the key duties of the purchase ledger department which are as follows :- Process additional urgent purchase Ledger payments via internet banking Process cancellation of cheques and reissue if lost in post or incorrect. Scanning of invoices into the system and file invoices in monthly files Reconciliation of suppliers statements and request missing copies of invoices Process Credit Card transactions over the telephone Update supplier address book when required new address/bank details Plus other duties consistent with the grade as directed.
