An exciting opportunity has arisen at Hinckley & Rugby Building Society for a Treasury and Regulatory Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team, based at our Head Office in Hinckley. Hinckley & Rugby Building Society was formed in 1983 and has 8 branches throughout some of the towns and cities of the East and West Midlands. This is a full-time role based at our Principal Office in Hinckley, with an annual salary between £15,648- £19,464 depending on experience. Core full-time hours of work will be 35 hours and 25 minutes per week Monday to Friday. Saturdays may be required as requested by management. Your Role: As a Treasury and Regulatory Accounts Assistant you will report to the Regulatory Manager. This role includes aspects of Operational Finance and Accounts giving a broad exposure to the Finance Department. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Daily cash projections to forecast required funds and balance movements Weekly monitoring and reporting of liquidity Management of invoice processing including authorisation, coding, payments and supplier statement reconciliations Assistance with monthly and quarterly returns Daily and monthly completion of Treasury Management System (TMS) processes Month end contribution to completion of the ALCO pack Administration of treasury deals utilising the deal diary from the TMS system for swap fixings, wholesale deals, gilts, ILTR and TFS Daily cash management includes monitoring and reconciling the Bank of England reserve account as well as RBS and HSBC accounts. Cash projections are prepared to identify whether funds are required from the Bank of England or whether there will be a surplus position Assist in the preparation of regulatory returns Maintenance of the purchase ledger, ensuring appropriate approval and coding of all invoices received and managing the payment of creditors. Working with the Management Accountant to review the aged creditors and create payment runs Dealing with supplier queries as they arise and resolving any issues in a polite and efficient manner Responsibility for the completion of the following monthly schedules to go into the ALCO pack Daily TMS reconciliations and month end process for treasury transactions completed on the last day of each month Maintaining the processes and procedures related to the role and assisting with external and internal audit information requests as well as other ad-hoc information requests as required by the Regulatory Manager Essential requirements to be considered for this position include: Strong communication skills Good attention to detail Good organisational skills Ability to work to deadlines Willingness to learn and develop Good IT skills including a basic understanding of the MS Office package, especially MS Outlook & Excel At a minimum, five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including Maths and English The willingness to undergo a credit reference search and DBS check (our employees must have impeccable standards of personal finance) Desirable skills and experience: Experience within a Building Society or the Financial sector Use of Excel Benefits include: 23 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays Private healthcare and health insurance Contributory pension scheme Life cover of 4 times your annual salary Reward, recognition and incentives Full training and the chance to gain industry recognised qualifications Supportive and friendly culture with an open-door policy Join an organisation that promotes from within Opportunities to pursue different specialisms within the business Great location within Hinckley, walking distance to Hinckley town centre Newly renovated offices
