About the role The Assistant Accountant will take ownership for the preparation of monthly journals and Balance Sheet reconciliations within agreed timescales. They will work with the wider business to ensure that all system postings are accurate and be responsible for recovering debt from both car manufacturers and dealers. Daily responsibilities include: Assisting in the production of monthly accounts and month end reports Preparing and posting journals Reconciling large volumes of data using internal systems Preparing monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations Liaising with Operations to correct and advise them on financial postings Ability to recover debt from car manufacturers and dealers This is an exciting role where we will develop your skills and potentially progress into a career where you will be recognised as a Finance professional. About you We are looking for an accomplished Accountant who is experienced in double entry and who has gained a professional qualification in Accounting (maybe AAT or fully/part qualified in CIMA or ACCA). You will also be a competent Excel user, able to confidently utilise Pivot Tables and vlookup's in your day to day work and the ability to use Macro's would be the icing on the cake. Knowledge of SAP would also be an advantage. To be successful in this role, you will need to be a team player who is used to getting their work completed but who is also able to challenge protocol and suggest improvements to our processes. So you will need to be confident in your ability to do the role and also in communicating within your team and areas outside of finance. What's in it for you?
