Edenbrook are working with a specalist insurer to help source the role of Syndicate Accountant. Based in London you will report to the Syndicate Finance Manager and you will be a key member of the four person Lloyd's Reporting Team responsible for the Syndicate's regulatory reporting, including quarterly submissions (QMA, QSR, trust fund returns, GQD) and annual submissions (ASR, ASB, TPD) and the Syndicate's annual report and accounts. Key Responsibilities; You will work within a small, dynamic team focused on Lloyd's regulatory reporting and participate in: The development and management of timetables to meet all deliverables; The production of Lloyd's regulatory returns at each quarter end and at the year-end; and The production of statutory accounts at the year-end In order to achieve the above you will: liaise closely with the people in your team and other business areas including actuarial, reinsurance, the central accounting team, financial systems and tax; Keep up-to-date with changes affecting regulatory reporting and accounting in general; Participate in the ongoing development of our systems and controls; and Liaise with the external audit team You will engage in financial accounting projects as requested and provide analyses that facilitate the effective completion of the audit process. Required Skills; You will possess sufficient technical / insurance and accounting knowledge to complete Lloyd's regulatory returns (or parts of) ready for review and to a high standard and subject to tight deadlines; A part qualified accountant with the potential to gain a full accounting qualification or fully qualified accountant. Experience using general ledgers and strong excel skills; Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail; and A team player with good interpersonal skills
