I am seeking an Assistant Tax Accountant, on behalf of well-established firm of chartered accountants, to join their Business Service team. Our clients Business Service team assists a wide variety of individuals and businesses including manufacturing, construction, technology business, professional firms, medical practices, charities and farms. The Role: Developing personal tax skills and will involve preparation of self-assessment tax returns, P11D's and assistance with general tax compliance matters. There will be the potential to become involved in the preparation of financial accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, along with corporation and personal tax compliance. Bookkeeping work and preparation of VAT returns for clients. Some of the duties may be carried out at clients' premises so a full clean driving licence will be necessary. The Ideal Candidate: Will have good academic results with a minimum C grade GCSE in Mathematics and English (or equivalent). Will have a willingness to proactively study and develop tax-based skills. Existing ATT part or full qualification would be advantageous, although this is not essential. Alternatively, you will be looking to commence or continue with the ATT qualification. You may be looking to embark on the CTA qualification if ATT has already been achieved. If not already ATT part qualified, you will be either part (minimum level 3) or fully AAT qualified or qualified by experience to a comparable standard. Should possess a high level of IT proficiency and the ability to use various packages, in particular: MS Office (Word, Excel), Sage Line 50, Xero and Quickbooks. Familiarity with CCH software would be useful. Previous involvement in accounts preparation work, the production of management and other accounts, along with an understanding and experience of personal and corporate tax together with basic bookkeeping skills would be helpful, but not essential. It is essential that you have recent previous experience within a UK accountancy practice environment. Will be confident and articulate in dealing with a wide range of clients.
