Senior Manager - Business Planning and Reporting Birmingham, West Midlands c£48,000 Plus 26 Days' Holiday, Option To Buy Up To Five Days' Extra Annual Leave, Flexible Working, Civil Service Pension, Additional Benefits Package Set up under the Gambling Act 2005, the Gambling Commission is committed to safeguarding the public against any detrimental impact brought about by gambling. We are currently looking for a Senior Manager to join our Programme Management Office team and ensure that the Commission continues to perform to a high standard. Joining our Programme Management Office (PMO) team means ensuring all our work delivers our strategy in the right way to accomplish our ambitious goals. With over 300 people at the Commission, the PMO team's work is key to making the right decisions. Alongside developing our annual business plan, they support its delivery by providing the tools, techniques and expertise necessary for exceptional performance. The PMO makes sure our key change projects are working; identifying milestones and risks, reacting appropriately and realising opportunities. They provide the necessary platform to continue building on our exciting portfolio of initiatives. It's wide-ranging work with plenty of opportunities to bring your ideas and experience to help elevate what we do and how we do it. As the Senior Manager, you will oversee and improve our performance reporting framework, including the monthly consolidation of programme and project reports and quarterly reports for the Board. In this important role, you will: - Lead, support and motivate your team - Improve the use of metrics within performance reporting - Advise Programme and Project Managers on selecting KPIs and how to utilise them - Co-ordinate and consolidate programme and project plans and anticipate reporting requirements To be considered as a Senior Manager, you will need: - Experience of developing and leading on evidence based, integrated business plans - Previous experience of developing, implementing and managing outcome-based performance evaluation frameworks and measures, including the use of tools such as outcome performance measures and KPIs - A broad range of analytical skills and the confidence to challenge existing arrangements and methods As the Senior Manager, you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and present sophisticated reports on business performance. A meticulous eye for detail and strong time-management abilities are also key. The closing date for applications is the 2nd September 2019.
