As the Payroll Team Leader, your role will be to oversee & implement statutory procedures for the payroll of circa 20,000 employees, along with supporting & leading the Payroll Team. You will be a key point of contact for managers and employees and must possess an extensive knowledge of statutory legislation such as Tax and National Insurance, Year-end/P11d and Statutory Sick Pay. Responsibilities will include: Processing & Calculating all statutory absences, i.e. Sickness, Maternity etc. Reviewing and inputting starter, changes and leaver information onto SAP as per HR procedures Inputting information onto SAP that is not entered by operational management, including all miscellaneous payments and manual timesheets Assisting with in-house systems, legislative updates and testing (Timegate, SAP) Reconciling and producing period end reports & variance monitoring for abnormalities Generating TUPE reports when required, in particular in the event of contract loss Calculating & processing any Ad-Hoc payments Administering tax code changes through EDI Being point of contact for all statutory related queries - Being confident in explaining Payroll procedures & processes to employees Dealing with Mortgage references, any HMRC related correspondence or third-party correspondence Processing all P45's & New Starter Declaration forms in line with legislation, submitting data electronically to HMRC Accurately calculating and processing pay runs Assisting with preparation and completion of year end tasks - P60, P11d and year-end reporting Dealing with escalated tax and legislation queries from the team Supporting other members of the team with legislative training needs as and when required & various other duties as required from time to time as directed by your line manager Experience required: Education/Qualifications Good standard of education, Including Maths and English GCSE Must be computer literate and be willing to learn SAP systems CIPP desirable but not essential Working experience/Personal attributes Extensive Payroll experience, gained by working within a matrix (large organisation) Payroll environment Excellent knowledge of HR & Payroll administration Excellent understanding of Statutory Payroll Previous SAP Payroll experience is desirable but not essential Hardworking & work well within a team Strong customer service skills Ability to work well under pressure Ability to work on your own initiative Proficient in Microsoft Excel Integrity & trust Able to prioritise own and others workload The OCS Group is one of the UK's leading providers of facilities management and property support services, employing over 25,000 people in the UK.
