iMultiply are delighted to be retained to support Edinburgh Airport with the appointment of a Management Accountant. This newly created role within the finance team is a hand-on analytical finance role involved in delivering the month end process, using data to identify key financial trends and insight into variances, supporting the development of annual budgets and forecasts and therefore ensuring the finance team has quality data at its disposal with which to help shape business strategies and decisions. Reporting to a senior member of the finance team this role will form part of a team of Management accountants supporting finance and external stakeholders and it is therefore essential the candidate has experience in a finance environment handling a high volume of complex data, as well as being able to build relationships across the finance team. This role will become important member of the finance team going forward as the team seeks to grow its reputation as a key partner to operational and commercial teams across the Airport. Key areas of focus will include: Delivery of the month end process including, but not restricted to, preparation and review of journals, preparation of management accounts together with variance analysis against budget and forecast; Ownership of the balance sheet reconciliations for the business partnering team; Utilising the insights from monthly variance analysis to prepare rolling forecasts for the Business Partners profit centres; Detailed investigation of month end variances through collection and analysis of data from business objects, SAP and other data sources across the airport; Contribute to analysis activity as required by the Business Partnering team to provide financial modelling that supports and challenges key business strategies and decisions; Liaising with external auditors to ensure completion of the annual audit; Support the planning and execution of annual budget and reforecasts process; Monitoring the monthly financial performance of the business through attending weekly business To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience: Part Qualified Accountant (e.g. CA, ACCA, CIMA) with a preference for a minimum of 2 years' experience in a commercial environment; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent IT skills including MS Office and a good working knowledge of accounting systems in a large organisation; SAP experience desirable; Experience in management reporting, planning and budgeting skills; Strong analytical skills and numeracy, working to high levels of accuracy; Organisation and prioritization of workload to meet strict deadlines High levels of drive and personal commitment to achieve success; Motivated self-starter with a flexible 'can-do' attitude; A strong team player, with a desire to make a significant contribution to the finance department; Please do not hesitate to contact Andrew Robinson for a private & confidential discussion.
