An SME Financial Controller role with an interesting company based in Central Slough.

Your new company
An interesting niche energy business expanding into new projects

Your new role
A classic small company FC role with one report.
You will be working closely with the MD, sales managers and project managers.
The role reports to the UK MD with a dotted line to the Parent company's Group FC in Germany
* Responsible for the financial management and financial controls within the business
* Provide key financial analysis and reports, monitoring performance to aid corporate objectives
* Co-ordination and preparation of annual budgets, including P&L, Cashflow and Balance Sheet
* Quarterly forecast updates, partnering with budget holders and executive team
* Cash flow forecast reporting to group treasury, monthly and ensure cash management is optimised
* Ensure compliance for all financial regulatory matters
* Ensure strong internal controls and be the point of contact for auditors, banks and external parties
* Monthly reporting, ensure period end process is timely and accurate
* Quarterly fast close reporting to group headquarters in Germany
* Annual statutory accounts preparation
* Use of financial reporting system (Sage 50 Accounts Professional)
* Ad hoc reports and activities alongside the MD and business heads





What you'll need to succeed
* Ability to work within the smaller UK team as well as a larger global team and German Head office
* Financial reporting, budgeting & forecasting, transactions processing and control
* Strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills both verbally and in written form
* Excellent analytical skills and a commercial approach
* Thorough understanding of financial accounting processes and procedures
* Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritise and manage a number of tasks concurrently
* Keep abreast of latest changes in legislation, accounting developments and industry standards
* Be innovative with sound judgement and decision making
* Keen eye for detail


This key role requires an experienced qualified Financial Controller, with the gravitas to operate at the highest of levels but also with hands-on technical and systems expertise to ensure high levels of financial support to the business.


* Qualified accountant, ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
* Proven relevant experience of at least 5 - 10 years in a similar role
* Thorough understanding of financial accounting processes and procedures
* Project accounting, FX and Treasury experience
* Strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills




What you'll get in return
Salary £50,000 - 60,000 depending on experience. Bonus 10%. Pension 5%. Healthcare Plan
