Our client a diverse international business group active in 35 countries across six continents & focusing on six business areas: aviation, energy, hospitality, real estate, shipping, and diversified investments are looking to recruit a Group Financial Accountant to join their London team. responsibilities:
Coordinating with the regional offices around the world to ensure accurate and timely reporting in compliance with Group deadlines Supervision and development of two Assistant Group Accountants and overall responsibility for the production of the results of the UK companies in the Service Group structure. Review of subsidiary submissions with a good understanding of the underlying operations activity and performance, ensuring compliance with all current accounting standards Preparation of sub-group consolidated results, including: Quarterly consolidated management accounts Consolidated forecasts, as and when required Preparation of company and full consolidated financial statements under IFRS for audit Co-ordination of the Group's sub-audits to achieve sign off in line with Group deadlines Key liaison with the Group's external auditors Key liaison with the Group's external UK tax advisors to ensure tax compliance filing deadlines are met for the UK businesses and transaction tax matters are appropriately considered Providing technical accounting assistance and tax matters guidance to the subsidiaries as required Occasional travel to regional offices, predominantly in Europe Ad hoc tasks as required Qualifications and skills profile: Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA); 1-2 years PQE Practice or commercial accounting background Experience of group accounting Previous experience of end to end preparation of statutory IFRS consolidated financial statements and audit Experience of managing others Pro-active with good communication and presentation skills, including collaboration and relationship building Enthusiastic team player but with ability to work independently and unsupervised, able to use initiative Able to generate new, workable ideas - particularly in areas of data processing, analysis and report design Positive attitude and approach to difficult situations, willing to take on challenges Ability to plan and progress work Eye for detail and willing to take ownership for the quality of information prepared Please contact us if you have the relevant skills and experience and are interested in having a confidential conversation about the role
