GL Accountant - Bredbury, Stockport, Greater Manchester Are you a skilled and qualified GL Accountant , combined with working across multiple cost centres and within a shared service environment, plus looking to join a global company? The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: About the role An exciting opportunity has arisen to come on board with GP Strategies team, as we are currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic GL (General Ledger) Accountant to join our Accounts team in Stockport, Greater Manchester on a Permanent basis . You will play a key role in the teams expansion helping them successfully reach their course requirements. You will ensure that all procedures and control policies are completed accurately and with the deadlines set out by the companies' policies and procedures. What will you do? Essential Duties and

Responsibilities:
Assist with coding of facility Invoices and upload Journals to Oracle. Maintain facility cost management system in accordance with policy and guidelines. Review and upload journals in to Oracle. Maintain recurring journals for prepayment and accruals and review any variances. Maintain and reconcile Fixed Asset Registers with in Oracle. Maintain general ledger account analysis and journal corrections and prepare upload journals. Completion of balance sheet schedules. Assist in the preparation of yearend accounting files and tax packs. Complete Intercompany account reconciliations and investigate any variances. Assist in reconciling Company Credit Card's. Assist with questions from upper Management. Assist with audit questions during quarterly reviews by US auditors and annual audits by in-country auditors. Review and revise standard procedures where appropriate to ensure efficiency and compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX). Provide backup assistance to Accounting staff when necessary. Consolidation of European work in to EMEA hub. To participate in the staff development programme within the framework of IIP and within the agreed individual staff development plan. Do you have the following skills? Skilled in Accountancy to AAT level 4, or combined with accounting expertise and a completed an accountancy degree (CIMA or ACCA would be desirable) Excel/spreadsheets expertise to an advanced, combined with good Microsoft office skills IT literate If working in an accounts team or department or payroll or cash , cash ledger or AP , bookkeeping - all a bonus Skilled in debits and credits Possess a degree, Higher Education Qualification in Accountancy or significant industry expertise First-hand expertise of working within an accounts department Effective time management due to high volume of workloads Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Have a desire to learn and take on additional work once the successful individual is confident/competent Committed to self-study ( the company will fund applicable accountancy qualifications) Punctual and reliable Interested candidates, please apply via the GP Strategies career page with current CV, availability and salary required for immediate consideration or message me directly.
