We're looking for a new Credit Controller to join our team - interested? We'll need you to be responsible for assisting with the management of the debtors ledger and will be the driving force in achieving cash collection targets within a high activity team.You'll be making outbound calls to customers and responding to incoming queries.Your goal is to successfully collect as much cash as possible to avoid aged debt and maintain positive cash flow. The key areas of responsibility for the Credit Controller include:
• Cash collection
• Finance administration Skills, Experience and Qualifications Essential Skills
• ICM qualification or part qualification preferred
• Degree level education or equivalent would be an advantage, but not essential
• Relevant experience in a credit control environment
• Ability to understand terms and conditions of contracts, to analyse slow moving accounts and outline a collection strategy to resolve each case by collecting money due or issue of credit note.
• Knowledge and experience of debt collection escalation procedures
• Proficient in the use of MS Office applications including Advanced knowledge of Excel to analyse and manage data (ability to use functions such as Sum-if's, V-Look ups, macros & pivot tables)
• Good financial and commercial acumen

• You will have a proven track record and reputation for integrity, confidentiality, accountability and results Principal Responsibilities Cash Collection
• Take ownership of the debtors ledger, managing customer accounts and ensuring that an audit trail is maintained on all communication with customers
• Communicate within the business to ensure payment issues and queries are resolved quickly.
• Chase outstanding debt from customers and meet monthly cash collection targets to maintain positive cash flow.
• Follow the credit control chase procedure ensuring that relevant dunning letters are sent and the support stop process is followed.
• Ensure accuracy of receipts allocated to invoices and credit notes so that customer balances show the correct due debt and that debtor information is accurate.
• Produce aged debt listings and days sales outstanding (DSO) reports to maintain and control debtor level.
• Report on debt management and cash collection for senior management including cash forecasting for managing cash flow requirements.
• Identify slow moving accounts noting key details on the credit control system so that delinquent debts are escalated for case management.
• Investigate and issue credit notes to correct errors and maintain accuracy and confidence in the accounting balances.
• Manage correspondence with customers to ensure that service levels are maintained within a 7 day turnaround.
• Resolve issues fully, seeing problems through from initial contact to resolution.
• Post and lodge cheques from customers and review daily bank receipts including credit transfers so that funds are credited for value as soon as possible.
• Work with the PMO and Contracts team and assume responsibility for credit control of all invoicing, ensuring timely collection of unpaid debt relating to contractual disputes. Finance Administration
• Ensure that all processes are documented and stored centrally.
• Support the Finance Manager with projects as part of business objectives.
• Provide information and analysis as required
• Identify opportunities to improve processes to maximise efficiency and accuracy and reduce risk.
• Understand internal IT systems and work with internal resources to improve efficiency, usage and reporting.
• Assist the team with new projects that arise as part of business objectives.
