Join our progressive Finance Team, as a Management Accountant, and you'll join one of Wales' largest third sector organisations, in a highly commercial role, so the best of both worlds. This role can be based in either Newport or Swansea. Who are we? We are a Group of companies providing housing and support that makes a real difference to peoples lives. Pobl Group is the parent Company and provides all the corporate services required for each of the Group companies. This ranges from Finance, Human Resources, IT and Facilities Management to Communications & Marketing and Sales. The main purpose of this post is to assist the business partner with the financial governance, control and reporting and forecasting of all areas within the division. The role will involve working closely with other members of the finance team and all levels of management to ensure the supply of accurate and timely information to all relevant stakeholders. How will you make a difference? You will have responsibility for month end management accounts, including the production of month end management reports with commentary and presentation of information to senior management Carry out analytical review on financial performance and investigate and report on variances. Support the business in the review and reporting of rolling forecasts, by providing information on assumptions, trend analysis and changes within the business environment. Manage the annual budget setting process for the business areas within the role. Assist with the collation of information from the business for long term business planning. Develop meaningful reporting utilising group reporting tools for committees and boards. Provide financial input into project teams as required Assist the Business Partner with systems and process development To work as required with the external and internal audit functions, ensuring compliance with guidelines as specified by our regulators and accepted accounting standards as outlined. Act as a point of contact for budget holders within the group as required by management. Support and guide operational teams and budget holders in financial decision making, whilst developing their financial awareness to allow management to make effective business decisions Attend and report at directorate team meetings as required. Assist the Business Partner in reviewing and developing accounting systems, controls and procedures. Undertake reconciliations and ensure implementation of financial controls within the finance accounting systems Lead, manage and support assistant management accountants within the team Assist operational personnel within the group with the completion of financial information in annual return paperwork and external monitoring returns Assist the Treasury team with the completion of new business viabilities. To assist with any other 'ad hoc' financial reporting exercises in line with the level of the role and responsibilities. Who are we looking for? (For more detail see Role Profile): A fully qualified accountant who has experience in the preparation of management accounts, development of internal financial controls and ideally some experience within the Homes & Communities sector. You will need to have effective business partnering skills, derived from experience in communicating financial reports, effective negotiation and the ability to analyse complex information and reach robust conclusions. You will need to demonstrate excellent numeracy and literacy skills with attention to detail and be able to manage competing priorities whilst working under pressure.
