GL Accountant

Location:
Blythe Valley Park, Solihull Purpose: The main purpose of this role is to undertake the general ledger accounting and statutory submissions for several legal entities of Infor within the EMEA region. Duties and

responsibilities:

• To ensure the integrity of the balance sheet.
• Month end reporting to the corporate accounting team in accordance with the published timetable
• Complete analytical reviews of allocated entities and document /validate variances
• Fixed Asset accounting
• Bank Reconciliations
• Prepayment accounting
• Supporting intercompany processing and reconciliations for the team
• Preparation of VAT return, and support of statistical return completion.
• Assist with corporate quarterly and yearly reporting packs.
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, and assistance with review where required.
• Support margin reporting on 3 rd party products
• Primary responsibility for completing group audit requests for selected entities within defined deadlines.
• Assist statutory accountant/auditors in completing annual filings including responsibility for any ledger queries.
• Support Tax group with annual returns by providing analysis as requested
• Cross support other team members to ensure overall achievement of deadlines
• Take ownership and support colleagues on jointly managed tasks
• Work with other finance/non finance personnel to ensure accuracy of accruals and reserves for allocated entities.
• Assist with ad hoc projects within the team as required Key Competencies : Attention to Detail Team player/contributor Communication skills (verbal and written) Planning, Prioritising and Organisation of Workload Problem Solving Skills Reliable and Flexible Knowledge, Skills and Experience - Good knowledge of excel - Part qualified accountant (or equivalent experience) -F inancial accounting experience required, ideally within an SSC GL accounting environment - Experience of working with external accounting partners is highly desirable - The ability to work under pressure - Being adaptable to change, sometimes at short notice. - Possessing positive attitude to challenges - Ability to interact with a range of colleagues up to and including senior management level - Excellent oral and written English communication skills. - Good Interpersonal skills. - The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. - Demonstrated ability to hit deadlines - Around quarter and financial year end, extended working hours are likely to be required for which time off in lieu may be provided. - Knowledge of European foreign language highly desirable Organisational Chart: SVP - Finance l VP - Finance l Senior Manager, Accounting l GL Accountant Additional Information: Direct Reports:0 Indirect Reports:0 Budget Control:0
