We have a brand new temporary opportunity to join our successful business as a Payroll Manager on 6 month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Divisional Head of Finance, this role will be responsible for managing all payroll operations across the Ground Control group of 850 staff. You will ensure each stage of the payroll process is properly actioned, that staff are paid correctly and correct payments are made and appropriate information is communicated to our pension providers, HMRC and other statutory and pension scheme bodies. Other key responsibilities will be to manage and control the SAGE payroll software, process mapping of all payroll procedures including the production of a payroll manual as well as the supervision of the Payroll Assistants. Key accountabilities are to; prepare and input payroll data into the payroll software to include starters, leavers and amendments administer and calculate staff pay, overtime, SSP, SMP, Pensions and other adjustments be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the monthly payrolls complete all statutory and regulatory monthly and annual returns required by HMRC, Aegon, NEST etc be responsible for authorising any Childcare Vouchers under the company's scheme conduct regular systems checks to ensure that the payroll database is working correctly and to identify any problems, reporting issues to the Finance Director and/or IT colleagues ensure all pay related payments made are accounted for in the company's accounting software ensure that monthly reconciliations are undertaken including payroll related balance sheet accounts collate all benefit in kind information and ensure that all P11d forms are submitted on time each year prepare schedules each month, to ensure clarity on responsibility of roles within the department prepare, collate & process payroll journals keep up to date with relevant regulations/legislation and determine the impact of any changes, taking action to implement changes where necessary. Ensuring all staff are kept informed of changes which may impact on the organisation or individuals This is a great opportunity for an experienced Payroll Manager with experience working within medium to large organisations. Detailed knowledge of payroll systems, taxation and national insurance rules are a must along with substantial experience of using complex computerised payroll systems (ideally Sage) involving all aspects of payroll. In addition you'll have experience of designing and implementing internal controls and audits as well as an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation relating to Payroll and Pensions. Ideally you'll be educated up to degree level and hold a recognised qualification in Payroll and Pensions e.g. CIPP Diploma in Payroll Management or equivalent as well as being a member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP).
