Senior Practice Accountant Who are IGD and what are we looking for: We are a small, dynamic accounts practice based in modern offices in West Wickham, just off the high street with access to residential parking. We pride ourselves in providing a personal service to our clients who are mainly small businesses and individuals, whilst keeping up to date with current changes. Due to an ever increasing number of clients, we are looking for a full time, qualified accountant, who has experience managing a portfolio of clients within practice and can oversee work competed by accounts staff. The Role: Reporting to our director, responsibilities will include: Managing a portfolio of clients - production of final statutory (FRS 102(1A) and FRS105) and non-statutory accounts, preparation of corporate tax, partnership and self-assessment tax returns including business tax computations for limited companies, LLPs, partnerships, sole traders and individuals; Effective and proactive communication with clients; Overseeing and sharing with practice director the self-assessment tax return production process for entire practice; Review of draft accounts, tax returns, VAT returns and correspondence produced by staff ; Dealing with accountancy and tax related queries raised by clients and staff; effectively communicating with them clearly on all matters; Monitoring all relevant HMRC and Companies House filing deadlines for the practice; Organising and working effectively together as part of team as the senior accountant, arranging and attending quarterly management meetings; Effectively assisting the practice director; Ongoing development, improvement and automation of internal systems; Sharing new client engagement process with practice director, including meeting prospective clients, providing fee quotes and preparation of engagement letters; Managing major new accounting/tax projects; Monthly review of WIP/timesheets ensuring fees raised in timely manner; Technical research and responsibility for ensuring clients are made aware of important legislative changes which affect them; Experience and attributes: ACCA/ACA qualified; Minimum of 4 years practice experience; Good knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105; Proactive approach to work prioritisation and time management; Effective communicator, both verbal and written; Logical, analytical and have a strong attention to detail; Experience using different accounting software such as FreeAgent, Xero, Quickbooks. Good working knowledge of Excel and Word; Working knowledge of IRIS desirable, but not essential
