A local council in Suffolk has an exciting senior level job vacancy for a qualified accountant to join their team as a Senior Finance Business Partner working closely with service managers to provide key financial information and support to ensure they are able to make informed decisions They are looking for a dynamic team manager to play a key role in shaping the finance team and assisting the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives.

Your new role
You will be leading the delivery of accurate financial and performance, monitoring forecasts and plans for your operational areas, Working in partnership with the Heads of Service and operational Managers to understand the wider financial context and identify developments and challenges which will have an impact on service delivery, budgets and performance. Develop an in depth knowledge of your operational areas, and keep abreast of service developments and challenges ensuring that the Finance & Performance Team support their needs.

Managing a team of 3 Finance Business Partners you will be expected to mentor and support them through their professional qualifications and in delivering their roles to the fullest.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be CCAB/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent) and a strong people manager. You will have excellent attention to detail and an effective communicator with both internal and external stakeholders. They are looking for someone who can deliver change and manage a diverse workload with conflicting deadlines.

The role is based in both Bury St Edmunds and Mildenhall and travel between both sites is essential.


What you'll get in return
The salary banding is between £38,813 - £39,782 dependant on experience and offers an excellent pension (worth around 21%) and flexible working options.
