Accounts Assistant

Your new company
Based in Paisley, our client is recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. The hours of work are Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm. The organisation is accessible by public transport and there is also on-site parking available. The organisation is ideally looking for the successful candidate to start with them as soon as possible.

Your new role
As Accounts Assistant, you will work as part of a team of 5 and report into the Finance Director. Primarily, you will take ownership of all purchase ledger duties, although the processing of invoices is done by an alternative department. Your tasks will include (but will not be limited to); payment runs, reconciliations, prepayments, accruals, journals and general associated administration. You will also be tasked with assisting with the monthly payroll (which should take circa 2 days of the month). Working alongside the Sales Ledger Clerk, you may support them during busy periods. The IT systems used are Opera and SAP.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have proven, successful experience in a similar Accounts Assistant position. You should have working knowledge of prepayments, accruals and reconciliations. Payroll experience is preferred but not essential. Again it is preferred that you have working knowledge of Opera and/or SAP. As the role is diverse and you are working as part of a small and busy finance function, a team player attitude is essential.
