This role is ideal for someone studying their AAT and looking to develop their skills in Finance.

The role could also suit someone established (non-studier) looking to utilise thier existing Purchase Ledger skills and work for an international company to manage intercompany processing.

Description

The Finance Assistant - Accounts Payable role involves;

    • The finance team are responsible for all the accounting and tax reporting for the main UK service company.

      The timely payment of invoices and staff expenses is relied upon by every employee and, as a direct result of so many stakeholders, is a very high-profile role dealing with members of staff at all levels and all suppliers.

    • Processing of supplier invoices, ensuring the correct coding and VAT treatment

    • Processing of intercompany sales and purchase invoices, matching of intercompany balances, liaising with intercompany partners on a regular basis and arranging cash payments and receipts

    • Preparation of key month end balance sheet reconciliations.

    • Maintain and reconcile the GBP Payroll and GBP bank accounts daily

    • Maintenance and weekly/monthly reporting on Aged Creditors and the status of invoices/expenses in the Document Management system "SIMPLER"

    • Contributing to the weekly payment runs for supplier invoices, employee expenses & payroll

    • Ensure suppliers are paid within agreed payment terms

    • Ensure employee cash and corporate credit card expenses are in line with company policy

    • Actively chase and approve key supplier statement reconciliations

    • Monitoring the weekly Corporate credit card "delinquent" employees report

  • Ad hoc support to the AP Team Leader and Financial Controller

Profile

The ideal candidate for the Finance Assistant - Accounts Payable role will be;

    • Studying AAT or degree level with a relevant degree and accountancy studies commenced or already established AP subject matter expert with 2+ years' experience.

    • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
    • Knowledge of accounts systems
    • Ability to build constructive and effective relationships both with immediate team colleagues and abroad based inter-company contacts
    • Numerate with good communication skills both written and verbal
    • Self-motivated and organised, with attention to detail
    • Able to meet strict deadlines and to raise issues to line manager's attention timely
    • Intercompany experience would be a bonus (not essential)

Job Offer

The Finance Assistant - Accounts Payable role offers between £25-30,000 (depending on experience and level of qualification), + study support (towards AAT, or CIMA, ACCA if required), and excellent benefits.
