No way? Is that the response you get when you tell people you are an Accountant? If so you will fit in well here at IMCD. Although we have 2,800 employees globally, you would be joining a small team within finance, reporting into our FD and working closely with the Financial Controller of the UK part of the business which is made up of 150 staff and has a turnover of £210million. You will probably be part CIMA or ACCA Qualified and keen to continue developing your career learning from some enthusiastic and very knowledgeable individuals. Having already worked as a Management Accountant you will be familiar with the day to day duties of assisting in the production of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT, implementing new controls and reviewing controls relating to Group Risk Management. The great thing is you would also be working within a multi currency environment, getting experience assisting in the production of stat accounts and ad hoc projects as well as assisting with the preparation or reports for submission to HQ in Amsterdam. As with any job we feel there are some key skills that will enable you to hit the ground running, these include: - Part qualified - we feel this position is going to suit an individual who is still on their learning journey, we are happy to provide study support and career progression Experience of working as a Management Accountant - this is essential. If you have worked in a multi currency environment within the retail or manufacturing sectors this would be a huge plus Excellent time management - managing your time and workload around month end and juggling other projects is going to be a challenge, but one that you are probably ready for Being a team player - your input is essential the finance teams success and the business in general so being happy to help your colleagues out when needed is expected IT skills - we use JD Edwards in the finance team, if you haven't worked with this its not a problem we are happy to train you, but you will be confident working with Excel and all the magical mastery that Excel is capable of (VLookup, Pivot Tables etc) A can-do attitude - our values are PASSIONATE. You will go a long way if you use your initiative and common sense, and are happy to roll your sleeves up and support the wider team Being highly numerate - you probably get a bit of a fuzzy feeling when things reconcile first time, or when you resolve a discrepancy.
