Our client based in London is looking to recruit a Company Accountant to join their expanding team. The ideal candidate will be flexible, have good management, financial, accounting and IT skills and will be commercially minded. An ACA would be preferable although equivalent qualifications would be considered. A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience outside the profession is required. The job is not suitable for candidates preferring a corporate environment, and wishing to be part of a large team. The client is growing rapidly and provides scope for the company accountant to develop with the company with a view to taking on the role of CFO prior to an IPO. The accountant will report directly to the Chairman, who will also provide mentoring as and when required. The candidate must expect to undertake all tasks associated with the role including daily tasks such as processing of payments, reconciliations etc.; monthly management accounts, and preparation of financial statements; HMRC reporting. Budgets and forecasts including cash flow must be routinely prepared as well as financial information packs. The role will include company secretarial duties. The role is expected to expand into financial management of all aspects of the business and lead to a position on the board.
