The office is located centrally and enjoys the additional benefits of an onsite gym and restaurant.Department Profile:The Tax department ensures compliance with income and indirect tax filings, and monitors tax regulations and legislation. In addition, it calculates reports and discloses all of the Firm's tax-related expenses. The department also plans and manages the Firm's domestic and international tax strategies and advises Firm management and business units on business products, location and structure.Team Profile:A Director is required to undertake a role within the Global Tax Department, based in Glasgow. The Glasgow tax department is responsible for EMEA tax compliance and reporting and preparation of U.S. Tax Returns for International, Federal, State and Local jurisdictions.The Morgan Stanley Tax Department currently has an interesting and challenging career opportunity for a Director, who will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with supporting U.S. Federal and State and Local corporate income tax compliance. This is an important and challenging role, with the successful candidate's primary responsibility being team management; ensuring deliverables for NY clients are met on a timely, accurate and efficient basis and an opportunity to learn U.S. Tax compliance. The role will involve in house training in all aspects of the required responsibilities there is no expectation of prior U.S. Tax knowledge required.Primary

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for review of data collection analysis and calculations completed by the central team- Manage resources within the team and coordinate activities with in Glasgow Tax leadership- Obtain an end to end understanding of the U.S. Domestic, U.S. International and U.S. State and Local compliance process and dependencies- Ensure all process steps meet required standard and timelines- Execute continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives- Provide support for status reporting and metrics- Support the relationship with the NY Tax Technology team- Manage day to day responsibilities of IT processes- Liaise with the relevant stakeholders around proposed revisions to tax policies and procedures.- Management and development of staff, including performing mid and year- end reviews QualificationsSkills Required:- Qualified ACCA/CIMA/CA - Accountant - PQE 3years- Proven track record of managing processes and of continuously reviewing and improving process required to perform role- Team management experience essential, with track record in development of staff- Must have ability to think critically and self-review- Strong control focus while maintaining a high level of client service- Self-motivated, with a desire to succeed and develop professionally and personally- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and be a team player- Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills- Confident working with colleagues in worldwide business locations- Focus on collaboration across teams and geographic regions- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial systemsInterested in flexible working opportunities?
