The Credit Controller will, vet all invoices once they have been raised to ensure accuracy, ensure invoices are issued in a timely manner and posted to the sales ledger and be the go-to person for all credit control queries both internally and externally. This role will encompass credit control, sales ledger but significantly the main focus will be working alongside Client Partners and Project Managers to ensure a smooth client relationship relating to all things financial. Key Responsibilities
• Invoicing, including; o Ensuring all goods / services have been provided prior to invoicing (including proof of delivery / export) o VAT is applied as applicable o The correct Incoterms are stated o Exchange rates are correct (if applicable) o All details are correct and in accordance with client requirements including project number, PO details and contact details o Ensuring zero rated invoices are in line with HMRC requirements
• Ensuring invoices are issued in a timely manner and posted to the sales ledger including; o Liaising with other members of the Finance team relating to accounts posting, EC sales lists, intrastate, insurance declarations, VAT returns etc. o Producing a weekly 'Goods Despatched Not Invoiced' report and investigating reasons
• Credit control including; o Acting as the conduit and focal point for all queries internally and externally o Liaising with Business Units as appropriate o Producing a weekly summary / update report on payment and aged debtors o Check / submit monthly statements and agree balances with clients o To chase overdue monies and take appropriate action for overdue debt (account stop, letters and recovery) whilst retaining excellent relationships Key Skills and Experience
• Previous experience of credit control, dealing with both small and large clients
• A proactive approach to work
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• An understanding of HMRC requirements and Incoterms
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Other
• Keen interest in retail market sector
• Flexible approach to work
