Safe Site Facilities Ltd. is a growing organisation based in Littlehampton. We currently have a vacancy for an experienced credit controller. This is an opportunity to join a small Finance Department to assist with the day to day smooth running of the business. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will become a key member of the department, helping to develop and build the team along with the company's aims and visions. Key Accountabilities Checking customer credit ratings and advising on whether or not to offer the credit Obtaining credit insurance when necessary Chasing overdue invoices by telephone, email and efficiently managing debtors Reporting to the Financial Controller in a timely manner in order to aid cashflow Maintaining accurate records of all activity Invoicing customers and sending out monthly statements Handling disputed invoices and negotiating to bring payment within the agreed terms Proposing write off of irrecoverable receivables Providing ad-hoc reporting as and when requested by management Undertaking the process of legal action via Money Claim Online to collect the money owed if necessary Identifying changes in payment patterns and proposing action to avert indebtedness Dealing with internal queries about payments Participating in the review of debt recovery procedures and advising on the stop of goods and services Completing supplier questionnaires for new customers Aiding in the development and improvement of financial processes and procedures Knowledge and Experience Experience in credit control essential A qualification in relevant subject an advantage but not essential Experience of computerised accounting system (Sage 50) desirable but not essential Basic understanding of accountancy or an interest to learn Experience with credit insurance desirable Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to gain trust and respect of team members and customers in order to develop relationships Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills The ability to pay attention to detail Excellent numerical and computer skills Ability to work well under pressure
