Responsible To: Head of Finance Staff Responsibility: None Hours of Work: 35 hours per week Job Purpose: The post holder will provide support to the Senior Finance Officer in all aspects of accounting ledgers (Purchase, Sales and Nominal Ledger) for a group of companies. Main Duties: Prepare and input sales Allocation of customer payments Credit control Journal processing Prepare, input and reconcile staff expenses in line with expenses policy Preparing Ad-hoc management reports Distribution of substantial petty cash and input expenditure into finance system (during holiday periods) Various analytical work as and when required Maintain and update spreadsheet records of expenditure Provide support to other members of the finance team where necessary Undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job title, as may be determined by the finance manager Assisting the payroll department with the processing of the monthly payroll during busy periods and/or holiday cover Qualifications and Experience Preferably educated to HND level, or equivalent, with demonstrable work experience Experience of working within a payroll and/or finance department Highly organised with the ability to work on his/her own initiative and prioritise tasks Thorough approach, placing importance on accuracy and attention to detail A good team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of people at different levels of seniority An excellent communicator - verbal and written, including the ability to draft detailed reports for management Able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines Receptive to working in a fast paced, changing environment Fast, accurate keyboard skills, with advanced knowledge of Excel and Word (or equivalent packages) Experience in the use of a variety of accounting software, particularly Microsoft NAV, would be advantageous.
