We have an exceptional opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join the Treasury Controllership team and support the Senior Manager, Treasury Controllership to perform treasury accounting and execute key treasury controls for a range of treasury related activities across a range of entities. Key responsibilities include: Bank reconciliations for the core treasury bank accounts across WBA; Accounting for daily in-house cash movements (intercompany funding) and other treasury related activity including foreign currency hedging, intercompany dividends and cash repatriation; Timely and well-controlled execution of large value treasury payments; Maintaining standard settlement instructions (SSIs); Maintaining and improving systems (e.g. setting up new accounts, configuring automated accounting, building reports) including Wall Street Systems, Cognos Controller, TM1, RBS Bankline, CashPro and HSBCnet; Works with the external audit team to support the external reporting process; Partnering with the operating businesses to provide guidance and clarity on intercompany funding and hedging; Collaborating with the Global Treasury team and the Treasury Controllership team to ensure complex transactions are well understood and processed in a smooth, timely and well controlled manner; Communicating effectively with our partners in Corporate Controllership; Establishing and building strong and productive relationships across the WBA finance community, including with teams in different geographies; Performing period-end financial close responsibilities. Preparing data for financial statements, quarterly and annual regulatory filings using applicable systems; Supporting continuous improvement and identifies performance improvement opportunities in a constructive and collaborative manner. The successful candidate will be a part-qualified chartered accountant (e.g. ACA, CIMA) and ideally holding a treasury qualification (e.g. AMCT). This role will suit someone with: Experience working in an accounting function of a large multinational corporate; Experience in executing and documenting controls essential; Experience in providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction; Experience in analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions; Advanced Excel skills (e.g. creating a pivot table); Positive 'can-do' attitude.
