Band 3 - £21,845 - £23,000 pro rata British Canoeing is the United Kingdom's Governing Body for the sport and recreation of canoeing and kayaking. This is an exciting time to join British Canoeing, as we are making progress in delivering Stronger Together - an exciting and ambitious new strategy for paddlesport in the UK (2017-2021). We are looking for someone who can work relatively autonomously to provide accurate finance support and guidance across the organisation. The role will be responsible for ensuring effective financial control and accountability for British Canoeing as well as its wholly owned subsidiary British Canoeing Events Ltd. The role will operate as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. The post will accurately record financial transactions and maintain the financial ledgers on SAGE 50 as well as being involved adhoc support to the Finance Manager and Finance Director. The successful candidate will ideally be part or full AAT qualified and have knowledge of good accounting practices. Experience of SAGE and high/intermediate use of Excel is essential. You will have demonstrable recent successful experience in a role(s) with similar responsibilities. You should have good computer literacy skills; experience in analysing financial information and strong numerical, verbal and written communication skills. You need to be a self-motivated team player with the ability to work cooperatively.
