• Offers a driven candidate a unique platform to grow and define the role within the team to optimal effect.
• Provide support to the GED business across Europe / Switzerland. However many of the business lines and projects within GED are organised globally and the candidate will also be expected to operate effectively in this capacity.
• Alignment to one or more individual business lines within GED as the primary business face off. Responsible for understanding and executing against any Business Management requirements resident within those functions. Responsibilities across all run-the-bank tasks.
• Primary point of contact for that business line, with a deep understanding of the business (e.g. products, front to back flows, revenues, costs, personnel, strategic plan, initiatives)
• Identifying risk mitigating and efficiency opportunities in the day to day activity and ensuring that any solutions are implemented consistently on a global GED wide basis.
• Supporting key governance forums as relevant to the business / region.
• Drive and contribute to various change / business enabling initiatives, leveraging the wider UBS organisation to deliver change.Own initiatives / thematic topics on behalf of GED or Equities on an ongoing or ad hoc basis e.g. costs initiatives, Index Licensing, certain aspects of Regulatory Reform response. Your team: As part of the IB COO Function, the Global Equity Derivatives (GED) Business Management team is responsible for a broad portfolio of activities centred around:
• Simplification of the front to back infrastructure with a focus on efficiency, cost and the control environment.
• Acting as a strategic enabler to the business.Managing the change portfolio. Your expertise:
• Networking and influencing across the front to back organisation to deliver key business objectives.
• Project Management / Process Management experience desirable (Six Sigma, Lean or similar desirable).
• Operating independently, acting as a self-starter and problem solver.
• Delivering against milestones on a timely basis and to a high standard without management intervention.
• Analysing large quantities of data and being able to identify key conclusions (strong Excel).
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Assurance of client information integrity and confidentiality in scope of project(s).
• A product background in (Equity) derivatives is an advantage.A career background in either Ops / IT, Finance / Treasury or Compliance / Op Risk is an advantage.
