Wilkinson & Associates are working with a large banking group in Edinburgh. Our client is looking to expand their Statutory Reporting function with specific regard to both UK and International aspects of the Group. This is a key hire to the team and it's expected the jobholder will take ownership of the second line review process and lead a team within a matrix structure. This role is part relationship management and part technical accounting. You are responsible for the review & challenge of numbers given by the various divisions and subsidiaries. Your role in the team will cross a variety of activities, together with key financial control activities, whilst acting as an escalation point for operational issues. Equally, you will support the wider team in delivering continuous improvement, operational and data quality initiatives. Review and ownership of key financial disclosures in the published Annual Report and Accounts and bi-annual Company Announcements. Quarterly review and challenge of core data disclosures and supplementary data collection for inclusion in quarterly Interim Management Statements Managing key finance and functional relationships, including quarterly debrief and briefing as well as the preparation and delivery of financial disclosure Knowledge pools Monthly Balance sheet review process including presentation to senior management Support the Chief Accountant's delivery and implementation of relevant aspects of finance projects To be considered for the role you must be a qualified accountant with a background in either external audit and / or statutory reporting. You should have proven post-qualified experience and knowledge of IFRS is essential. Financial services and FINREP experience would be highly advantageous. It is expected that you will have good planning and organisational skills and you must have proven ability to deliver within a deadline driven environment. The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable providing challenge to assumptions where appropriate. You must be able to manage internal and external relationship and interpret complex financial data.
