Summary of the Financial Controller: We are looking for an experienced, detail-orientated and self-motivated Financial Controller to oversee the day to day activities of the finance function. Working directly with our Chairman, you will be implementing and maintaining all financial controls and systems, with a view to maximising financial efficiency and performance across the business. Responsibilities of the Financial Controller: Manage the finance function in its entirety, including invoicing, credit control, reconciliation and reporting. Timely production and preparation of budgets, forecasts, balance sheet, P&L and cash flow reports. Maintaining all financial ledgers and accounting records, as well as compliance with statutory legislation including VAT. Carry out financial modelling and analysis, providing recommendations to management on reducing overheads and increasing profit margins. Responsible for highlighting any adverse trends and variances in a timely manner. Multi-currency cash flow management. Management of all insurance requirements and associated documentation in relation to the business, premises and company cars. Close liaison with the company's accountants. Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained. Requirements of the Financial Controller: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a minimum of 3 years' experience. AAT and QBE will be considered Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with SAGE 50 Accounts. Able to plan and manage routine activities, with proven timely delivery of financial statements to accounting standards. An open mind to taking on new challenges and projects in a reputable and ambitious business. Highly commercial with the ability to manage the broader perspective, whilst maintaining a key eye for precision.
