A major service sector business based in Worksop are currently looking for a Commercial Financial Analyst to join their expansive operation. As the Commercial Finance Analyst you will play a key role in supporting the Commercial Accountants and buying teams to drive profitability across their trading calendar. You'll be expected to pull data from the system, overlaying an element of interpretation and take the analysis deeper, drawing trends and interrogating further to really understand how to impact the clients performance. The role is a varied one with some of your responsibilities including: Develop and prepare ad-hoc analysis and enhanced reporting on items such as supplier rebate billing to allow the buying team to understand their financial performance and opportunities for growth. Work with the buying team to develop a robust process to understand and track Better Buying initiatives. Assist in the creation of intake margin analysis to help drive performance by identifying risks and opportunities, generally this will be interpretation of the reported numbers and working in parallel with the Commercial Accountant. Support the product development team to ensure new products are supported with strong commercial reasoning, by asking detailed questions and ensuring that the investment decisions when presented to the Commercial Accountants are complete. Track forecasting accuracy across the buying teams and help them take corrective action where necessary. Liaise with the management accounts team to ensure that rebate recognition rules are adhered to and sufficient evidence is provided for the auditors. The ideal candidate will be qualified or part qualified (potentially studying at present), ideally working in a large retail or FMCG environment currently with exceptional excel skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
