Finance Analyst - Supplier Funding Hatfield, Hertfordshire, UK We are Ocado, the UK's only dedicated online supermarket. Profile: Given the diverse, commercial nature of the business, this is a hands-on role and an excellent opportunity for a driven finance professional with plenty of scope to add value, through supporting the Senior Analyst to enhance supplier funding reporting, margin understanding and to be a part of supplier negotiations with the Trading team. Key to this role will be the strong business partnering you develop with the Trading team. You will be a Qualified Accountant, who is able to demonstrate strong relationship building and commercial acumen. The Role: Develop and maintain the analysis and controls around supplier income to ensure maximisation of income collected by Ocado, and accuracy of data; working closely with the trading team to aid their negotiations with suppliers Support the Senior Finance Analyst in maintaining the finance relationship with Waitrose; preparing settlement documentation and supporting the annual audit of overrider income working alongside Waitrose and suppliers to improve processes Provide high quality reporting, budgeting, forecasting and ad hoc analysis Support the Senior Finance Analyst in analysing and interpreting results and trends to enable the business to make informed strategic decisions, provide ad hoc analysis and support, solving problems and answering queries within agreed timelines Identify and implement improvements to business processes to increase efficiency and ensure all costs are recorded accurately in the accounts Undertake the periodic accounts process: preparing and posting periodic journals, analysis and commentary Preparation of quarterly settlement Support the completion of the annual audit of supplier income to maximise income recovery and insight into supplier contracts Development of income modelling to support periodic accruals and forecasts and help drive maximisation of income stream by ensuring Ocado collect income they are entitled to, and inform Ocado's negotiations with suppliers Support the Senior Finance Analyst in the preparation of the Annual Budget and Quarterly Forecasts for key supplier income and payment processing Development of process to ensure both increased accuracy, timeliness and alignment to management accounts (MA to KPI rec) Quarterly audits of SFM system to ensure accuracy of data Development of reporting of income types and key suppliers Ownership and review of additional key cost lines: payment processing charges; completion of month end; review of data available to increase insight and accuracy; and enable cost reduction Assist Senior Finance Analyst and Finance Manager in other areas as necessary Support the step change in embedding Finance and driving change into the Trading Teams Skills & Experience: Essential CIMA/ACA/ACCA Part/Newly Qualified Strong academics; minimum 2,1 at degree level; Strong Excel skills are essential Experience of period management accounts, analysis and commentary essential Experience in budgeting and forecasting essential Desirable Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Competent Microsoft Word user Experience of ERP systems (e.g. Oracle Financials) Experience using Hyperion (Planning and Budgeting) Experience in retail Whilst this role will be working for Ocado Retail, the intention is to have the role in place prior to the creation of the Joint Venture company. This means that relatively soon after joining the successful applicant's contract will transfer from Ocado Group to Ocado Retail.
