Fyte are working with a top tier Scottish commercial law firm based in Edinburgh city centre. We're supporting them with the recruitment for an Interim Finance Manager covering a period of maternity for around 15-18 months. The Finance Manager will run a firm wide budget from start to finish, influence individuals and have regular meetings around targets and forecasting. Another key part of the role will be to oversee the credit control function. It's essential that you have had experience of managing a team with different demands. The role will have overall management of Credit Control Team Leader, 2 Finance Assistants and a qualified Accountant. Duties &

Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for the production of the firm's management accounts. Review all information produced by the Management Accountant including monthly management packs (internal and external.)Ensure all accounts are reconciled monthly and accountant is investigating budget variances. Management of the credit control team and the firm's credit control process, including liaising with partners as required on debts and escalating issues to Director of Finance for further action. Main contact for any requests for financial information from partners or others in the business. Preparation of annual accounts from management accounts, to include production of statutory accounts for audit, and main contact for auditors. Main finance lead on the project to replace the firm's Practice Management System. Produce firm's annual budget, including meeting with division heads and function heads to agree income and costs. Authoriser for sending client and firm transfers, and approval of weekly supplier payments. Liaise with tax advisers on all partner tax payments and on the firm's tax computation. Organise partner profit distributions, drawings, capital increases and repayments. Hold regular meetings with partners to review work in progress and unpaid debts. Support the FD in statutory reporting, budgeting, annual audit and tax preparation. Requirements: Candidate should hold a full professional accountancy qualification.Qualified by experience candidates will be considered, dependent on experience; Experience of working in a legal environment preferred but not essential; Candidate should have a good experience in the preparation of accounts, and a strong understanding of balance sheet and ledger controls; Excellent attention to detail is required, along with a high level of accuracy and problem solving skills; The candidate should be a strong communicator with the ability to explain financial information in a non-financial way; Experience of managing a team essential; Ability to work quickly under pressure and to a high standard.
