Berry recruitment are currently searching for an experienced Financial Controller to join a well-established company in the Didcot area.

The role assumes responsibility for all areas of financial control and reporting, while supporting informed decision-making and managing business risk. Supervision and development of the finance team is a key part of the role. The Financial Controller is also instrumental in forming accounting strategies that enable the organisation to achieve its objectives, and proactively instigates positive change. Role

Responsibilities:
Regular assessment of the financial reporting environment to identify risk and introduce mitigating internal controls and/or improve existing controls as appropriate Management of the Finance Team to ensure its effectiveness and promote the continuous personal development of the individuals in the team. Maintain efficiency and accuracy of the Finance Team's outputs according to their individual roles, member requirements and appropriate deadlines Design and produce accurate, relevant and timely reports on a monthly and annual basis for historic, budget and forecast financial information Manage the organisation's working capital including gift card funding and collection of debts in order to maximise investment income Present management accounts to internal and external stakeholders as required Manage the annual external audit process including the drafting of the statutory accounts Manage the annual budgeting process Ensure compliance with relevant tax and legal requirements and other governance as may be required Analyse ongoing and ad hoc financial information as necessary to inform the management team and promote effective decision-making Prepare and present business cases for investment opportunities as required Provide financial advice and mentoring to peers in the management team Essential Skills and Qualifications: Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) Experience of leading a team while retaining the ability to be hands on Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience of delivering presentations at Board level The ability to solve problems and define actions according to available resources Willingness to be flexible on hours where necessary Up-to-date knowledge of current Financial Reporting Standards Time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines while producing accurate outputs IT skills, to include advanced Excel and intermediate Word/PowerPoint Previous financial systems experience, in particular Sage 200 Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience required: If you believe you have the passion and enthusiasm to succeed in this role, please contact Kathy Rusher at the Oxford Branch.
