PAYROLL ASSISTANT LEICESTER THE PERSON IS KEY in the region of £25,000 per annum, depending on experience. PURPOSE Responsible for using payroll software with accuracy and efficiency to a given deadline. Maintain and input payroll in a precise manner and understand the calculation of statutory payments along with variable data such as overtime. Ability to handle client queries when needed and achieve a high client satisfaction level. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES Accurate data entry to ensure pay is correct for all companies that are onboarded Working alongside the Payroll Specialist and Payroll Officer and other relevant co-workers with all matters relating to payroll To prepare and maintain routine and ad hoc reports, spreadsheets and database information as required Period end reporting Consistently completing all tasks accurately and on time Interfacing files from HMRC Checking and sending through all pertinent information to the correct department for payment Daily system tasks and ad-hoc system configuration, such as inputting new joiners, amendments to contract, leavers, statutory documents, checking exception reports, answering queries Liaising with our Pensions Consultant to ensure that all employees are set up correctly KEY COMPETENCIES & SKILLS 2 years' experience in a similar role Organisational, prioritising, and multi-tasking skills Analytical thinking as well as problem-solving and decision-making skills Great communication skills, in both verbal and written Professionalism Team player The candidate should have strong attention to detail and ability to work with confidence to accurately process payroll. ADDITIONAL SKILLS CIPP training Previous experience working in Sage 50
