At BP we're striving to meet growing global demand for safe, sustainable and affordable energy. It's a challenge. That's why we're committed to building a team of world-class individuals that together can make a meaningful impact to millions. We believe that if we can create a more efficient business that makes the best use of its finances, then we can move toward a cleaner world. To ensure we make great business decisions and continue to see possibilities everywhere, we need to be well informed on our finances. So, finding the right talent to take on this responsibility is essential. Our Group Accounting & Reporting (GRAR) team act as a safe pair of hands that support our actions every day. About the opportunity As Group Reporting Analyst, you'll be part of a small team working at the core of all financial reporting. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of accounting issues, constantly rising to the challenge and growing your own skillset. Global in nature, this role will see you liaise with colleagues right across the business. From data submitters and business segment policy and control teams, to tax, treasury and external auditors. Attention to detail is key, meaning we'll count on your eye to ensure the completeness, accuracy and data integrity of our financial reports. What's more, you'll prepare primary financial statements and advise other departments on how to handle group reporting matters. But your responsibilities won't stop there. You'll get the chance to deliver training for data submitters across the group, extending your passion even further. Your role will be open to ad-hoc group projects, meaning your day to day may well not always be the same. You'll work with and learn from experts in the wider GRAR team, to increase efficiencies in our processes and advance your own career. About you As a qualified accountant (ACA preferred), your knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards will be essential. Your ability to communicate effectively with contacts at all levels, across the world, will ensure shared success. You'll hold a strong track record of delivery, and your ability to manage priorities will be evident in everything you do. You'll approach pressure as a motivator, enjoying the thrill of working to tight timescales. As each situation is different, you'll take pride in your agility, being flexible with your working style. Ideally, you'll know your way around large group consolidations, either as a preparer or auditor, and will understand Group reporting processes and systems within BP (FBW and BEx).
